Thanks Gambit_Man for the info, however, I'd like to put a note that the list of competing books here do not include the c*mmerc*al ones, like r**ka, h**rcs, fr*t*, shr*dd*r, j*ni*r.

Yes - the reference was specifically for non-commercial books. However note that most of the books in the above list have been hand tuned for optimal performance in engine matches online at Playchess.com and other online sites, in most cases tuned for Rybka. For that purpose, the books are much stronger than the commercial books for Fritz, Shredder, Hiarcs etc which are all quite old now and many much better lines have been found and built into the hand tuned books.
