From 30 May to 1 June has been celebrated the twenty-first edition of the Magistral Ciudad de León "2008, in the city of León (Spain). In the first semifinal, Vishy Anand (India) won with difficulty by 3,5-2,5 Francisco Vallejo, while in the second, Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukraine) Alexey Shirov won fácilente to 3-1. In the end, Anand, Ivanchuk defeated by 2.5-1.5 after a serious error made by the World Champion at the last and decisive game.
The tournament was discussed by GM Miguel Illescas and IM Michael Rahal.

Ivanchuk wins clearly in Bazna
